About daubday

daubday is a small, free color-by-number site. Every day at midnight Korea time a new picture goes up, and everyone gets the same one. You pick a numbered color, tap the matching areas, and watch the picture come together. You can also turn your own photos into puzzles, right on your device.

Why one picture a day

Most coloring apps compete on the size of their library: thousands of pictures, new packs every week, and a long scroll of choices. daubday goes the other way. One picture a day is easy to start, easy to finish over a coffee or a commute, and fun to compare with friends because they colored the same thing. If you want more, the gallery has sixteen themes and every past picture of the day.

How the pictures are made

The pictures on daubday are drawn by code, not traced from other artists' work. Each theme, from mandalas to Korean patchwork, is a small drawing program that takes a number called a seed and produces a picture. The same seed always gives the same picture, which is how everyone sees the same picture of the day. The program then groups colors into numbered areas and places each number where it is easiest to read.

Several themes are inspired by Korean traditional design, such as jogakbo patchwork and dancheong ornament. They are simplified, playful interpretations, and our guides explain the real traditions behind them.

Your photos stay with you

When you turn a photo into a puzzle, the work happens inside your browser. The photo is not uploaded to us or anyone else, and the finished puzzle is saved only on the device where you made it. Your coloring progress is stored the same way. We do not ask you to sign up.

Who makes it

daubday is built and run by an independent developer in Korea. The site is free to use and is supported by advertising. If you have an idea, find a bug, or just want to say hello, write to us at hello@daubday.com.
